CITY OF SURREY'S ONLINE ELECTRICAL PERMIT APPLICATION SYSTEM
To start using the online permit application system, you must first become a registered user. During COVID-19, Electrical registered users are being set up by email at electrical@surrey.ca.

Electrical Contractors must include in their email their Certified Electrical TSBC LEL number, FSR information and an active City of Surrey Business Licence (or Inter-Municipal Business Licence). The Electrical Section Business Support staff will then contact you with further information.
Our system allows registered electrical contractors to create and pay for new permit applications. Existing applications and permits can also be searched for timely status information. To access these features, become a Registered Contractor.
For more information and to understand how to avoid electrical permit issuance delays, visit our Online Electrical Permit Application page.
Scope and Value Changes
Any scope or value changes to an Electrical Permit must be requested through the Permit Amendment Form and submitted to electricalpermitamendments@surrey.ca.

Annual Electrical Operating Permits
While applications can be initiated and paid online, the formal PDF version must still be submitted by email to accurately reflect the owner/operator information and contact information. After application and payment, email the PDF application to electricalpermitamendments@surrey.ca.

Expired Electrical Permits
Ensure your active Electrical permits do not expire. Expiry dates can be viewed on the online portal. Expired permits are given a "Tax Roll Notification" status and remain as this until the permit receives "Final Acceptance" or is cancelled by the electrical contractor.
